From Boston to Martha’s Vineyard
If you’re coming from Boston to Martha’s Vineyard, you have quite a few different options. Most locals take the bus from Boston’s Logan Airport (BOS) or from South Station in Boston, then walk-on the ferry as a passenger. But you can also always take a plane directly from Logan Airport, have private transport arranged, or even take a train (between Memorial Day and Labor Day).
If you’re driving and plan on bringing your car onto the Island, be sure to look at our By Ferry page and make your reservation as far in advance as possible. For sustainable tourism, we urge you to park your car in one of the Steamship Authority lots, take their convenient shuttle, and walk-on the ferry. Once you’re on the Island, there are ample public transportation options that will get you where you need to go.
Getting here is part of the fun and adventure, so plan ahead, allow yourself plenty of time, and before you know it we’ll be welcoming you to the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard.
